The Healthy DC Plan is a new, quality health insurance plan that helps DC residents stay covered. It is available to residents who are uninsured and meet income requirements (making between $21,597 and $31,300 in a year) and have an eligible immigration status.
With the Healthy DC Plan, there are no monthly payments and no costs when you get care. All plans cover doctor visits, mental health care, prescription drugs, and more–so you can keep getting the care you need.
You can apply for the Healthy DC Plan during the DC Health Link open enrollment period, which runs from November 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026. If you enroll by December 15, 2025, coverage starts January 1, 2026.
If you have questions about transitioning from Medicaid to the Healthy DC Plan, or if you just need health insurance, it’s worth checking to see if you qualify at HealthyDCPlan.com. You can also call the DC Health Link Contact Center at 855-532-5465 [TTY: 711], Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free expert help is available and trained assisters can help you enroll.
